2022 Honda Ridgeline
The 2022 Honda Ridgeline hasn't changed much since the 2021 model, boasting only the addition of the new Sonic Grey Pearl paint color. Otherwise, the only Honda pickup truck on the market remains available in four trim levels (Sport, RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition), all with the same V-6 powertrain and all-wheel drive availability. In addition, the 2022 Honda Ridgeline retains its unique unibody construction, which optimizes road comfort and towing capacity.

2021 Honda Ridgeline
For the 2021 version of the Honda Ridgeline, Honda focused on building a more classic truck profile. Key to this is the front styling, giving the 2021 Honda Ridgeline a more assertive, muscular look and the presence of twin exhausts hints at the V-6's robust performance.
A new Honda Performance Development package adds to the toughness factor with an updated set of Honda Ridgeline accessories, including wheel arch cladding, bronze-painted wheels, and grille inserts. These accessories are available for all trim versions. Cosmetically, the changes give the 2021 Honda Ridgeline a different look. Still, on a mechanical level, it remains the same truck as before, with unibody construction, independent suspension, and the FWD-based V-6 powertrain.
Trim Options For The 2021 Ridgeline Include:
- Sport
- RTL
- RTL-E
- The Black Edition
2020 Honda Ridgeline
The 2020 Honda Ridgeline is updated in several subtle ways, including dropping the RT and RTL-T variants. In addition, the infotainment system, previously five inches in size, has been boosted with an eight-inch touch screen.
Key Features Include:
- Updated nine-speed automatic transmission
- Coil-sprung independent rear suspension, giving it a carlike ride quality
- Optional in-bed audio setup, turning the cargo box into a huge speaker system for outdoor gatherings
2019 Honda Ridgeline
In 2019, the Ridgeline received minimal updates. However, there is now a second USB port in the RT, Sport, and RTL models. In addition, power-sliding rear windows and a sunroof have also been extended to the RTL and RTL-T versions.
The all-wheel drive option continues to be available on all, but the base RT trim option is standard on the RTL-E and Black Edition options.
The Defining Features Of The 2019 Model Are:
- The most fuel-efficient six-cylinder engine in its class, delivering excellent gas mileage
- Comfortable and practical interior styling
- A compact truck bed and roomy trunk capacity
2018 Honda Ridgeline
The Ridgeline received modest updates in 2018, with Honda dropping the RTS trim option and making the RT option front-wheel drive only. In addition, in 2018, the Sport edition came in two additional color choices: White Diamond Pearl and Lunar Silver Metallic.
Some Of The Best Features Of The 2018 Model Are:
- Its five-star safety and crash rating
- A plush interior and top-of-the-line infotainment system
- A speedy V-6 and six-speed automatic transmission that makes it a pleasure to handle
How The Honda Ridgeline Changes Between 2016 And 2022
Between 2016 and 2022, Honda gradually refined its only pickup truck option, with key improvements made in the 2021 model when the truck's appearance was changed to give it a more boxy, aggressive profile. However, there's no need to fix something that isn’t broken; all significant components of the second-generation Ridgeline have remained the same since its inception, including the V-6 powertrain, optional all-wheel drive, and the roomy trunk capacity combined with a shorter truck bed.
Interior options, trim, entertainment, and information systems have all been improved since this generation of the Honda Ridgeline arrived on the market in 2016-2017. Still, the essential components of the truck have endured. In addition, the qualities that helped it win the North American Car of the Year award in 2017 continue to lure buyers in 2022.
